I finally got someone to sail the 10R against the F-48. The 10R was only a little ahead of the US-1M early when the wind was 0-4 mph. The F-48 had a hard time tacking. When the wind picked up to 5- 10 the 10R was 1 1/4 x as fast as the US-1M and the F-48 was hardly touching the water. The Nightmare sails on it's nose and looks like it is always ready to trip over. It never did and was 3 to 4 times as fast as the other boats. Tacked over and then stopped dead but then accelerated to top speed in seconds. Wanted someone else to try but even the best skipper is still afraid to. I was shaking and really had a rush. Unbelievably fast. Went around the course with no one near me. I would be at the next mark and they would still be 30 -40 feet from the one I had just left. Legs vary from 100 to 180'. When I went to take it out someone got my attention and when I turned around it was ready to hit the bank 40 feet away in a few seconds. A dog in less than 4mph. Flying at 10 mph.

I only have an "A" rig which is 1390 sq. in. It was on the edge but never went over. A lot of concentration. I was shaking with excitment, FEAR? Didn't look at a wind guage or even the other boats. Just kept screaming around the course. Will have to call someone as to wind speed.
